About some of "serious games" corporate and government projects

Porsche

Virtual Staff Training and Collaborative Workspace Solutions

I contributed to the development of a desktop and VR serious training game for Porsche, built as a fully interactive 3D simulation of a real Porsche dealership. We recreated the entire environment—from the service garage and diagnostic bays to the showroom and sales department—so employees could train in everything from customer engagement and sales processes to vehicle maintenance, repair, and advanced diagnostics. The goal was to provide a realistic, risk-free space where staff could build confidence and practical skills before stepping into the real workplace. In short, people learned on virtual high-end cars before scratching their first real Porsche.

EpicSave and ViTAWiN

Immersive VR professional virtual trainings

EpicSave and ViTAWiN demonstrated how VR evolved from experimental technology into a practical training infrastructure for emergency-response sectors across Germany and the EU. Both projects focused on immersive simulation for paramedics, firefighters, police, and interdisciplinary crisis-response teams, allowing trainees to practice rare but critical scenarios in realistic virtual environments.

Their importance extended beyond technology itself. These initiatives helped legitimize VR within Germany’s traditionally conservative vocational education system by proving that immersive simulation could improve decision-making, teamwork, stress management, and operational coordination while reducing the cost and complexity of large-scale physical exercises.

They also accelerated broader XR adoption across European medical and public-safety training industries.

Swiss Federal Railways

Virtual training in the Swiss Gotthard Base Tunnel (GBT), the world’s longest rail tunnel at 57 kilometers, which opened in summer 2016.

In order to maximise the safety of passengers and staff, the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) faced the challenging task of providing practical training to around 4,000 individuals in over 200 different roles, ranging from train crews to control centre personnel and preservation and crisis intervention staff. This had to be done in an environment that is hardly accessible for training.

The scope of application ranges from learning route knowledge to emergency management strategies, such as those for fire emergencies, and simulated mass evacuations of entire trains. A complex scenario and sequence editor enables SBB trainers to develop training scenarios without requiring programming skills.

Around 4,000 people received actionable training in an avatar-based, AI-supported, virtual 3D world comprising the entire tunnel landscape and all trains used in tunnel operations.

I created characters, equipment and animations for this stunning project back in the day.

more about this project

"Alexander was a valuable asset to the overall success of our project. His consultation and professional oversight of the workflow, pipeline tools, and quality helped tie down artist's output and put in sight a common goal. His communication was direct, to the point, and always came from a place of realistic improvement for the overall project, especially during the polishing phases. His supervision was a key element in our success as a team."

Eugene Ivanov - Artist

"The IC3d Media team had the pleasure of working with Alexander on two highly realistic virtual characters, for a high-profile event in London. From the start Alexander was able to integrate quickly into our team. His skills as a 3D modeller are great and he was able to work well with our own modelling & animation crew. The end-results were above and beyond what I could have asked for and as a result I would highly recommend him to anyone."
